- American Battery Technology Company Awarded Collaborative Agreement with Argonne National Laboratory ReCell Center to Advance Novel Lithium Manufacturing Technologies, American Battery Technology Company is pleased to announce that it has been selected for a competitively awarded $1 million agreement by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory ReCell Center (Argonne) to support the commercialization of one of its internally-developed technologies for the domestic manufacturing of critical mineral lithium hydroxide. - BASF Battery Materials and CATL sign a framework agreement for cathode active materials, BASF and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) have signed a framework agreement for cathode active materials. Under the agreement, BASF will cooperate with CATL on a global scale. CATL has selected BASF as its important supplier. - Eaton adds solar project in Wisconsin to power regional manufacturing with resilient, sustainable and affordable energy, Intelligent power management company Eaton is adding a new clean energy project to drive carbon reduction at its operations in Wisconsin, advancing its commitment to achieve net zero operations by 2050. - National Expansion of the Innovative Industry-led Electrified Vehicle (EV) Battery Recovery Program, Following the successful rollout of North America’s first-of-its-kind Electrified Vehicle (EV) Battery Recovery Program in Québec, the industry-led initiative EVBatteryRecovery.ca is expanding across Canada. - Flexi-Light PET: Outstanding, sustainable sound insulation for vehicles, Polyurethane foam has traditionally been used to reduce noise, vibration and harshness in vehicles, contributing to passenger comfort. At the Automotive Acoustics Conference in Constance, Germany, Autoneum presented a polyester felt-based sound insulation system that is lightweight, resilient and shapeable, thus combining acoustic performance and precise contours with enhanced recyclability. - Eaton continues to progress on its sustainability targets, as outlined in new report, Intelligent power management company Eaton announced in its 2024 Sustainability Report that the company is progressing toward its sustainability targets. Furthering its goals beyond 2030, the report also details Eaton’s new commitment to becoming net zero by 2050—a target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative. Click Here

- GM and Redwood Materials to pursue use of U.S.-built batteries for energy storage, General Motors has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Redwood Materials meant to accelerate deployment of energy storage systems using both new U.S.-manufactured batteries from GM and second-life battery packs from GM electric vehicles. - Ultium Cells to upgrade Tennessee plant for low-cost EV battery cell production, Ultium Cells LLC, a joint venture between General Motors and LG Energy Solution, will upgrade its Spring Hill, Tennessee battery cell manufacturing facility to scale production of low-cost lithium iron phosphate battery cells, building on a $2.3 billion investment announced in 2021. Conversion of battery cell lines at Spring Hill to produce LFP cells will begin later this year, with commercial production expected by late 2027. Click Here

- Lucid Launches Collaborative with Critical Minerals Producers to Further Strengthen Supply Chain for American Automotive and EV Manufacturing, Lucid Group, Inc., announced it has joined with critical mineral producers Alaska Energy Metals, Graphite One, Electric Metals, and RecycLiCo, to help accelerate the development of domestic critical mineral resources and the procurement of these minerals for use in automotive manufacturing by U.S.-based automakers and Tier 1 suppliers. - Asuene and Manufacture 2030 sign MoU to accelerate global carbon emissions reduction, Manufacture 2030 has signed a memorandum of understanding with climate tech company, Asuene Inc., to jointly accelerate greenhouse gas emissions reduction across global supply chains. The partnership will strengthen Scope 3 data integration and expand the range of decarbonization solutions, supporting emissions measurement and reduction worldwide. Click Here

- N-Join1: an innovative, adhesive-free carpet that supports the circular economy, Vehicle manufacturers are increasingly looking for recycling solutions for end-of-life vehicles to meet sustainability targets and comply with new regulations that are accelerating the automotive industry’s transition toward a circular economy. In response, Autoneum has developed the N-Join1 carpet.
