  • American Battery Technology Company Doubles Quarterly Production at Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Facility,American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) has achieved a significant milestone by more than doubling production of recycled battery materials at its commercial-scale lithium-ion battery recycling facility in the quarter ending March 31, 2025 as compared to the previous quarter.   • New Study: Ascend Elements’ Hydro-to-Cathode® pCAM Process Cuts CO2e Emissions Nearly 50% Compared to Traditional Battery Recycling, An independently reviewed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) published finds Ascend Elements’ innovative Hydro-to-Cathode® direct pCAM synthesis process is significantly cleaner than traditional battery recycling methods – producing 49% lower carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions and 26% lower particulate matter 2.5 (PM 2.5) emissions.   • Bridgestone to Debut Industry-First 70% Recycled & Renewable Demonstration Tire at WasteExpo, Bridgestone Americas announced the company will debut a demonstration commercial tire at WasteExpo.   • Clarios “IdleLess” solution to cut idling by 60 percent, save thousands per year in fuel costs through real time battery monitoring, Clarios has developed a battery monitoring solution that can significantly reduce engine idling time and save thousands in annual fuel costs per vehicle. The Clarios “IdleLess” solution monitors the state of vehicle batteries and provides real-time actionable insights to fleets, helping to maintain optimum battery charge level while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.   • Cyclic Materials to build $20 million recycling plant in Arizona, Cyclic Materials will build its first commercial plant in Arizona as part of a push to boost U.S. critical minerals supply. The Toronto-based company said it would invest its own funds into the $20 million project, with plans to have it online by 2026. Click Here

  • Hydro and Nemak sign LOI to decarbonize automotive industry, Hydro has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Nemak to develop low-carbon aluminium casting products for the automotive industry. The ambition is to accelerate decarbonization efforts and support car manufacturers in reaching their sustainability goals. The decarbonization will be done by using more post-consumer scrap and changing the energy mix to cleaner energy sources like natural gas and electrical boilers at Hydro’s Alunorte alumina refinery in Brazil.   • DTE Energy breaks ground on new solar park to help meet Ford Motor Company’s needs for 100% carbon-free and renewable energy, DTE Energy broke ground on a 100-megawatt solar array near Coldwater, MI. When complete in 2026, Cold Creek Solar Park will be the first of several DTE parks that will help Ford Motor Company reach its goal of attributing 100 percent carbon-free and renewable energy to its Michigan manufacturing facilities.   • Transform: Auto Program Announces Mid-Year Progress Including Formation of Three Renewable Energy Sourcing Cohorts, Trio announced that the Transform: Auto program, which it launched alongside the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP) in late 2024, has formed buyers’ cohorts for three renewable energy procurement options: community solar, an electric utility green tariff program, and environmental attribute certificates.   • WM Announces New, Modernized High-Tech Recycling and Renewable Gas Facilities across U.S., WM announced the company will celebrate the official grand openings for four recycling and renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across the U.S. The facilities are part of WM’s plans to invest about $3 billion in its sustainability growth strategy from 2022-2026, expected to result in 39 new or upgraded recycling facilities and 20 new WM-owned RNG facilities.
