SP IMPACT Steering Committee
Identifying opportunities to drive efficiency and demonstrate leadership across the global automotive value chain through identification of streamlined, action-oriented industry sustainability reporting and supplier sustainability engagement processes.
Purpose: To drive efficiency and demonstrate leadership across the global automotive value chain through development of credible, consistent, and action-oriented industry sustainability reporting and supplier sustainability assessment / engagement options aligned with international leading practices.
The Committee aims to streamline industry processes, continually enhance transparency and data quality, and prioritize efforts with potential to enable tangible science-aligned improvements in sustainability performance across the value chain.
Work will be structured in alignment with SP’s strategic goals and engagement principles and seek to leverage existing guidance and resources where appropriate, while continually feeding back opportunities for development of new topic-specific resources via other established working groups and partner organizations. The Committee will also explore longer-term opportunities to develop global industry-level sustainability leadership initiatives.
Objectives:
- Enhance efficiency and data quality in common industry sustainability reporting and supplier sustainability assessment processes.
- Translate sustainability requests into actionable business insights with potential to drive meaningful performance improvements.
- Explore and identify long-term industry sustainability leadership initiatives to advance positive environmental impact at scale.
- Leverage and continually increase utilization of relevant existing guidelines and resources, while identifying opportunities for development of new industry resources via established working groups and partner organizations.
Participation: Steering Committee participation is by invitation to business leaders and subject matter experts of SP’s Vehicle Manufacturer and Supplier Member Companies. The number of seats on the Steering Committee may be limited to ensure an effective working structure, as decided by the SP Board. Current Steering Committee members include representatives of companies such as, American Axle, Bosch, Cummins, DENSO, Ford, GM, Honda, Lear, Magna, and, Toyota.
