SP Team Selected to Participate in NextCycle Michigan Innovation Challenge
We are pleased to share that a member-driven Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP) Sustainable Packaging team proposal for “Consolidation of Automotive Supply Chain Packaging for Recycling” has been selected as one of nine teams to participate in NextCycle Michigan‘s Recycling Supply Chain (RSC) Innovation Challenge Track this year.
NextCycle Michigan is an initiative from the Department of Environment, Great Lakes and the Energy (EGLE) that leverages public and private sector assistance and investment to improve Michigan’s recycling and waste recovery system. NextCycle Recycling Supply Chains (RSC) teams are challenged to develop innovative projects that improve or expand the collection, processing, or end markets for recyclable materials in Michigan.
Through this innovation challenge program, a team of SP member companies — including Magna International, Avangard Innovative, ARPLANK Direct, VMX International and others — will collaborate to seek to develop a new circular system for consolidating and recycling interior plastic dunnage materials along the automotive supply chain in Michigan. The vision includes a consolidation, aggregation, and logistical component, in addition to package design guidance.
SP will be sharing updates on the team’s progress as the program moves forward. Please contact us if you’d like to learn more about SP and opportunities to participate as a member.
