2024 SP Progress Report

Dear SP Members, Partners, and Friends,

I am pleased to share the 2024 Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP) Progress Report, highlighting a year of remarkable collaboration and continued progress in SP’s mission to advance environmental sustainability leadership across the automotive value chain.

This past year has been one of innovation and collaboration, marked by a shared commitment to addressing emerging environmental challenges while striving to drive meaningful change. Together, SP’s vehicle manufacturer and supplier members have worked to address key industry environmental sustainability efforts through member-driven initiatives spanning carbon neutrality, sustainable materials, nature-based solutions, water stewardship, and more.

A few highlights of 2024 include: the launch of the Transform: Auto program, aimed at accelerating renewable energy adoption across the supply chain; significant advancements in support of automotive packaging circularity; and, the development of new guidance on topics such as nature-based solutions, waste metrics, and water stewardship.

I want to extend sincere thanks to SP’s Board of Directors, member volunteers, and collaborative partners for your dedication and expertise. By leveraging your collective knowledge and commitment, we are addressing today’s challenges while laying the groundwork for a more sustainable future.

As we reflect on 2024, I am inspired by the opportunities ahead. The momentum we’ve built this year reinforces the importance of continued communication and collaboration across the value chain as we strive toward SP’s shared vision: an automotive industry with a positive environmental impact.
