  • Automotive Industry Leaders Launch “Transform: Auto” Program to Help Suppliers Add Renewable Energy and Reduce Emissions, SP in partnership with sustainability and energy advisory company Trio has announced the “Transform: Auto” program, aimed at driving the adoption of renewable energy across the automotive supply chain.   • AGC Group Achieves Cradle to Cradle Certified® Product Standard for Float & Coated Glass Products in Asia, AGC Glass Asia Pacific’s float and coated glass range has been awarded the Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze. This certification covers float and coated glass products manufactured by two AGC Group companies in Asia, PT Asahimas Flat Glass Tbk and AGC Float Glass (Thailand) Plc., and follows the existing certification of the Mirox MNGE product range.   • American Battery Technology Company Selected for Highly Competitive $150 Million Federal Grant to be Applied Towards the Construction of its Second Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Facility,  American Battery Technology Company has been selected for a highly competitive grant for $150 million dollars of federal investment by the U.S. Department of Energy to be applied towards the construction of a new lithium-ion battery recycling facility.   • Autoneum improves result in EcoVadis sustainability rating for 2024, In the EcoVadis sustainability rating for 2024, Autoneum Holding Ltd was once again awarded the gold medal. The automotive supplier was able to further improve on the previous year’s result, placing it among the top five percent of the rated companies for the second time in a row. Click Here
  • Battery recycling soars up in Canada with 50 million kg of batteries recycled through Call2Recycle, Call2Recycle Canada is thrilled to announce the achievement of 50 million kilograms of used batteries collected and recycled through its program since 1997 – the equivalent weight of 360 blue whales. This significant milestone is the result of Canada’s collective commitment to reduce waste, tackle climate change and build a circular economy. Click Here
  • Blue Whale Materials Selected for $55 Million DOE Award Negotiation to Expand Bartlesville, OK Lithium-ion Battery Recycling Facility, Blue Whale Materials (BWM) has been selected for negotiation of an award of over $55 million from the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains (MESC) under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Battery Materials Processing and Battery Manufacturing Program.   • Cirba Solutions Selected for $200 Million Award Negotiations for Critical Materials Refining, Cirba Solutions has been selected to enter into award negotiation with the U.S. Department of Energy for up to $200 million under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for their lithium-ion processing facility in Columbia, South Carolina. The facility will manufacture battery-grade salts to support the growing electric vehicle (EV) market. Click Here
  • DENSO Advances Sustainability Efforts at Southeast Michigan locations through DTE Energy’s MIGreenPower Program, DENSO and DTE Energy announced that the supplier has enrolled in DTE’s CleanVision MIGreenPower program, one of the largest voluntary renewable energy programs in the U.S. DENSO’s Belleville Logistics Center and one facility at its North American headquarters in Southfield will participate in the initiative.   • Eaton plant in Cleveland, Tennessee achieves Lighthouse status, Eaton’s Electrical Sector CPA (Commercial Products and Assemblies) plant in Cleveland, TN, has completed its final go-live review and joined plants in Juarez, Mexico; Changzhou, China; and Schrems, Austria as one of the company’s four fully digital factories and the first in North America.   • Honda Advances Toward its Global Clean Energy Goals with First Virtual Power Purchase Agreement in Japan, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has signed its first virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) in Japan for 63 megawatts of clean energy from the Rusutsu Wind Power Plant in Hokkaido, Japan. Scheduled to start in September 2025, this VPPA marks the largest in the Hokkaido region and will help Honda advance toward its global clean energy goals. Click Here
  • Hydro and PADNOS start advanced aluminum scrap sorting operations in the U.S., The joint venture Alusort is digging deeper in the aluminum scrap pile. Commercial operations of Hydro’s advanced scrap sorting technology have started at PADNOS’s sorting hub in Grandville, Michigan. Click Here

  • Menasha Corporation Publishes Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report, Menasha Corporation, a sustainable corrugated and reusable plastic packaging manufacturer and supply chain services provider, announced it published its 2024 Corporate Social Responsibility Report. Click Here
  • PureCycle Processes One Million Pounds in a Week at Ironton Facility, PureCycle Technologies, Inc. announced that the Company’s flagship facility in Ironton, Ohio processed more than one million pounds of feedstock over a consecutive seven-day span. Click Here
  • Stellantis and PETRONAS Lubricants International Launch the Co-branded Range of Recycled Products, Selenia SUSTAINera, Stellantis N.V, in collaboration with PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI), introduces its latest range of lubricants: the co-branded Selenia SUSTAINera engine oils.   • Stellantis Invests More than $406 Million in Three Michigan Facilities to Execute Multi-Energy Strategy, Stellantis announced it is investing more than $406 million in three Michigan facilities to support its multi-energy strategy and confirmed that the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) will be the Company’s first U.S. plant to build a fully electric vehicle.   • Toyota Motor Corporation and BMW Group Strengthen Collaboration Towards the Advancement of a Hydrogen Society, Toyota Motor Corporation and the BMW Group signed an agreement to strengthen collaboration in the hydrogen sector, with a view to creating a hydrogen society and achieving overall carbon neutrality.   • UBQ Materials Secures €5 Million Just Transition Fund Grant, UBQ Materials announced that it has been awarded a €5 million grant from the Just Transition Fund (JTF). The JTF grant aims to alleviate the socio-economic costs triggered by the transition to climate-neutrality, supporting economic diversification, creating new business opportunities and helping people to adapt to a changing labor market.
