  • Arkema reaches a carbon footprint of 1.3 kg CO2e/kg for the global production of its bio-based polyamide 11 chain, 80% lower than conventional fossil-based polyamides. One year ago, Arkema announced a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of its bio-based Rilsan® polyamide 11 reaching less than 2 kg CO2e/kg(1). The Group now announces a further reduction to 1.3 kg CO2e/kg(1) by using more renewable electricity sources and by making several additional energy efficiency improvements in its production sites.   • Ecolab’s Climate Targets Approved by Science-Based Targets initiative, Ecolab Inc. announced that its climate targets have been approved by the Science-Based Targets initiative. The validation encompasses Ecolab’s near- and long-term greenhouse gas emissions targets and bolsters the company’s track record in its journey to achieve net-zero emissions across its value chain.   • Goodwill® and Reju™ Announce Plans to Help Advance Textile Recycling in North America in Collaboration with WM®, Goodwill® and Reju™ announced that, in collaboration with WM, they have aligned on initial plans to pursue a multi-year initiative designed to help advance textile recycling in North America. They plan to develop a collaborative model for regional textile collection, sortation, reuse and recycling that is intended to divert more nonwearable textile materials from the waste stream.   • Hydro opens new extrusion press and increases recycling capacity in Cressona, Pennsylvania, The new indirect extrusion press replaces two old presses and is part of Hydro’s ongoing efforts to increase efficiency and modernize its operations. The recycling expansion increases the facility’s capacity to more than 270,000 tons per year, the largest in Hydro. After the expansion, the recycling facility will be able to process 64,000 tons of post-consumer scrap annually, an increase of 30,000 tons. Click Here
  • Unlocking Thacker Pass: General Motors to Contribute Combined $625 Million in Cash and Letters of Credit to New Joint Venture with Lithium Americas, Lithium Americas Corp. announced the Company and General Motors Holdings LLC have entered into a new investment agreement to establish a joint venture for the purpose of funding, developing, constructing and operating Thacker Pass in Humboldt County, Nevada.   • Li-Cycle and Glencore Establish Commercial Framework for Rochester Hub Products, Li-Cycle Holdings Corp. announced that it has entered into an agreement with Glencore Ltd. covering the off-take of 100% of the MHP to be produced at its Rochester Hub. By amending and restating certain of its existing commercial agreements with Glencore and Traxys North America LLC, the Company has established the commercial framework for the proposed MHP scope for the Rochester Hub project.   • Lithion Becomes Hyundai’s Official Partner for the Collection and Recycling of Electric Vehicle Batteries in Canada, Lithion is proud to have been selected by Hyundai Auto Canada Corp, the Canadian subsidiary of the South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer, as its primary and official partner for the collection of electric vehicle batteries and modules for recycling. This effort aims to help customers trace the origin of raw materials from source to final product, ensuring transparency across the entire supply chain while promoting more sustainable practices.   • Schneider Electric and Glencore collaborate to drive copper circularity, Schneider Electric has partnered with Glencore to transform its copper supply chain and enhance decarbonization efforts.   • Steel Dynamics Announces Certified, Science-Based Greenhouse Gas Targets, Steel Dynamics, Inc. announced certified, science-based greenhouse gas emissions intensity targets for its steel mills. In alignment with the 1.5° C scenario set forth in the Paris Agreement, Steel Dynamics set a 2050 emissions intensity target of 0.12 metric tons of CO e per metric ton of hot rolled steel produced.
