Alianza Verde Automotriz meets at Ford in Mexico City

On May 26, Ford hosted the Spring meeting of SP’s Alianza Verde Automotriz (AVA) initiative at the Ford Distributors Association in Santa Fe, CDMX.  Special thanks to Luis Lara and the Ford team for their support in hosting this meeting.

AVA was honored to have distinguished guests from SEMARNAT, as well as the World Economic Forum, participate in the meeting. Senior leaders of SEMARNAT shared information with AVA members on hazardous waste management, as well as the process of reporting and verifying emissions through Mexico’s National Emissions Register (RENE).  AVA members also learned about the World Economic Forum’s Platform for the Circular Economy (PACE), and discussed opportunities for organizations in Mexico to engage in the effort.

The meeting also included presentations from ChemicoMays, GEN Industrial and Indecolor on best practices in waste management and recycling; an overview by Nalco of the recently updated Water Risk Monetizer tool; a report from Metalsa on the AVA environmental ‘diagnostico’ conducted at its Saltillo facility in February 2017; and, an update on SP activities in the United States.
