The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) role in
SP is to help provide topics for special projects, information,
approaches and tools. In the past, EPA provided financial
resources to the National Institute of Standards and Technology's
(NIST) Manufacturing Extension Partnership(MEP) to provide
counsel and guidance to small and mid-sized businesses participating
in SP Technical Assistance Workshops.
