Alianza
Verde Automotriz (AVA) is a new initiative of SP's
North American Work Group to provide automobile original equipment
manufacturers and their suppliers the opportunity to address
new, innovative and voluntary environmental sustainability
projects and activities that will improve their environmental
performance while providing value throughout the automobile
supply chain in Mexico with support of the Mexican Government.
The AVA project was organized in collaboration with the Commission
for Environmental Cooperation (CEC).
Public Meetings
On September 5, 2012, Alianza Verde Automotriz (AVA) met
at the headquarters of General Motors in Mexico City. AVA's
September 5 meeting centered on ongoing AVA Work Group efforts
in the areas of Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency, and Waste
Management and Resource Creation. Through these AVA projects,
participating companies are working together to share tools
and best practices, improve processes and identify solutions
to improve the sustainability of the automotive supply chain
in Mexico.

On May 24, 2012, Alianza Verde Automotriz (AVA) met at Instituto
Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM)
in Mexico City. Participants at the May 24 meeting shared
environmental sustainability activities and practices currently
underway within the auto industry in North America, as well
as established a program of new value-driven projects and
activities that AVA would address in 2012. Read more about

On December 7, 2011, AVA met at the headquarters of General
Motors in Mexico City. The meeting included a diverse group
of participants including representatives of automotive OEMs,
suppliers and government agencies in Mexico. View more information

and foster synergies through cooperation, providing competitive
advantage through projects and activities that will provide
economic and environmental value throughout the automobile supply
chain for issues identified by participants within Alianza Verde
Automotriz.
